Rosa Park is known as the African American who refused to give up her seat on December 1, 1955. But back then the African American population did not have many right, like they did not have the right to vote. There were segregated public facilities in Alabama, for example couldn't drink from the same water fountain. The people of color could not attend the same schools as the white could, they also lived in different communities. Also the people of color had sprite "room, hall, theater, picture house, auditorium, yard, court, ballpark, public park, or other indoor or outdoor place". They also had to eat at different restaurants and the color people had to all sit in the same room to eat, they couldn't eat at the same hotel, until now. Rosa Parks was going home after a long day of work, she then got on the bus and took a empty seat. The bus driver asked her and three other people to the back of the bus to allow a white person to sit. On this particular day she refused to give up her seat and she was sent to jail, Because she broke the law and she did because she fought for what she thought was right and she never doted what she did.
